This is a movie about a group of young people coming on their own to England, each one of them leaving hell behind. Trying to cope, to find a new life, find friends and a sence of family and belonging. The fear is everywhere, but there is also laughter and life. The scenes of how the dance lift them away from their dark memories for some moments are some of my favourite scenes in the film.
Another strong scene is when 15 year old Abdul, played by Zarrien Masieh, get lost in his memories of his home and get lost in the mountains when they all are out for a hike. He is highly traumatized by the violence he has witnessed and the only help he gets is coming from the young friends around him, youth who likewise carry their own heavy stuff.

Featuring a soundtrack by the award winning band Alt-J, this provocative debut feature from BAFTA winner Bruce Goodison, introduces an ensemble cast of emerging talent, young refugees and acclaimed actor, Toby Jones."



Great story, great acting by the youth in leading roles. I will always remember this film. Also knowing that young people like the ones in the film is right here where I live, right among us, some of them going to the local gymnasium school.

The film today was choosen by a youthgroup in Angered, and my youthgroup in Hjällbo was invited to the show. It's looks promising that we might establish more contact and see if we can have a bigger youth-film-club here. What a dream! Yes, I'm in!

Colors and beauty

Good morning out there. Or should I say good day?
Not in a long time I have felt so great need for a long sleep morning and today I could have it.
No alarm clock. Sleep as long as I want.
To bring in some new fresh energy I chose the photo of this woman today.

The last two weeks has been a lot about starting up a new youth club for girls where I work in Hjällbo, swedish church. Main goal is to get new friends and get energy through laughter and doing fun things where everyone is respected for who she is.
As a leader I work a lot with having the girls talk in rounds where everybody speak and is listened to. It has to do with building up confidence and empower the dreams the girls have and make them believe in themselves.
This form of girls clubs excist in many places around the world and I have books and material to get inspiration.

This new started group has chosen the animal bear to be our symbol and group name. The more I think of it the better it is. The bear is about strength and courage, and having access to your dreams. The bear hibernate through the winter and is therefor living in the dream in a remarkable way. A bear can be a cosy cute teddy bear when needed and it can be big and powerful when needed.
The bear is a holy animal in many cultures around the world. The sign for bear in sign language is to draw a cross infront of your face.

Ever turning dance of life

The follow-and-lead dance is ever turning, changing positions and roles. Giving and recieveng. I hear. I listen. I take it in, transform and get an impulse to send out.

Winter images, I love grey and green!

Two warm weeks took away all snow. But today it's minus degrees again and a wonderful day for a walk.
Sun and snowfall at the same time.
I have to hurry and get out immediately.

Some spend their time creating a good looking home.
I like to spend time on finding out good music.

Walking the dog gives me some clear thoughts and fresh air.

Many shades.
Instead of just black and white, we are surrounded by the many shades of colours. I wish we could look at life the same way. See all the nuances.

Step by step, finding how to live a life with creativity at center, and also let go of the same when it turns to a squirrel wheel in a crazy world. Life is much bigger.

My favourite photo blogs and some more vintage dresses

Today it's the day when we light the second candle before Christmas. Happy 2nd advent to you!

Going out now makes me so happy with all the snow, white and clean and fresh. Everywhere I see things I want to make a photo of. My photo eye-glasses are often on. I'll share some winter photos here for you.
Leo is not that keen on going out when it's too cold. He's running fast like if he doesn't want to put his feet down.
Leo has a dog-friend, Boogie, who sometimes come visiting our neighbours. If Leo sees Boogie from the kitchen window he starts to cry to get out to greet Boogie. Yesterday we just saw Boogie leaving and we were too late to get out. After this Leo cried for about 15 minutes until we went out to make sure Boogie was not hiding behind the piles of snow.

When I want to get inspired I sometimes look at theese two amazing photo blogs.

Lotta has a great interest in dresses, writes about her life with children and many interests and dreams. Her blog is somekind of very poetic, I just love the way she writes.
Oh, about dresses, I found no less than five dresses yesterday at the local second hand, all five for less than the price on one dress in an ordinary shop. Two of them for sunny hot summer weather, but why not? One will be for my balboa parties, a tight grey slightly shiny In Wear-dress:

Today we stay at home. Friends coming, we'll bake some ginger bread and create fantasy ginger bread houses.

They found a song

It's now happening for the first time after the book of wedding songs was released. I've heard from a couple who are going to marry that they found a song in my book Bröllopssånger och kärleksvisor that they will have in the wedding ceremony.

This makes me so happy to know. The purpose is to share the songs through the book and make them more accessable again.

Now it's a cold and dark season. I have so many memories of light that I can make my day shine.
Here's one of the great memories from the book makeing. Photo session day, Eva Petrén is preparing one of our models.

Today I'm delighted to have an interview about the book for a magazine in Dalarna. We'll meet at Dalarnas Museum. On my way there I plan to see an art exhibition where Emmeli Malmqvist shows her work of kurbits from Dalarna in meeting with Göteborg. Sounds like something for me.

By the lake

The third and last photo session for the songbook was made yesterday. By the lake Delsjön close to Göteborg we set up our little camp base, being proactive against rain. No rain fell at all wich was lucky, and we got good clouds with a small sun beams now and then. Perfect light conditions!

And the team, oh how I love them. Janne photographer, Gabriella, graphic designer, and Eva, stylist. Because they all share so much of their care, love, laughter and good connection with people. It made us all prepared to give everything, and the models of the day created magic infront of the camera. Thank you our lovely models, Erik, Andreas, Lena and Håkan.

Gabriella is fixing Lena's hair flower. The theme has been paper flowers the whole way through.

Preparations always take the most time.
Then when it was action in front of the camera we could witness a rare thing. Can you imagine something more beautiful than Håkan and Lena who got married years ago, now standing surrounded by water and forest, holding hands and talking secretly by themselves about their long life together. We couldn't hear, just see the most magic and caring touch between two souls, two hearts so twined together. I'm honuored to be present in this moment.

Our models have been so brave in all our 6 photos. We placed the models into scenery and staged the situation. Still they gave us all the magic, personality and connection that will shine through the photo's in the book.

I will not show anything here on the blogg that looks a bit alike the photo's Janne made. That will have to stay as a secret and be a surprice when the book is released.

Café in Göteborg where you can bring your dog

Yesterday I had a lunch meeting with Gabriella, graphic designer of my book of wedding songs and love songs. Here's Leo on his first book meeting. It's not allowed to bring dogs in most cafés and restaurants, but here's one exception. Condecco, situated in Compassen shopping mall. Good for us! Leo must learn all the parts of creative life, including meetings with other creative people.




The whole process of making the book will soon come to the photo sessions. We are having our friends coming in as models. I'm so much looking forward to create the scenes and the themes of the photos. Everything, every detail, will be concidered, so the artwork will correspond to our visions of each chapter.
Gabriella said, note this, she said - it was not my suggestion - that Leo could also be a model in the photo somewhere, because he's so photogenic :-)

Lite surr om förkylning, dansbrist, och skotsk trall

Tänk att jag fick skeden med lindy hop på ialla fall....


Den här veckan blev lite avbruten, det jag trodde jag skulle göra blev inte av, istället fick jag uppleva annat, och göra annat.
En dum förkylning kom och stoppade roliga saker som kursen i Kleinteknik med Jannine Rivel, den som jag hade längtat så mycket efter. Flera möten ställdes in, och jag har bara varit hemma. Så är det, gilla läget, ta hand om förkylning och inse att det behövs en återhämtningspaus. Snart är jag på gång igen! (Redan imorgon tror jag)

Idag har jag till och med lyckats med konsten att somna till mitt på dagen. Det är ett tecken på att jag är riktigt sjuk. Nej då, så illa är det inte, men det händer väl typ några enstaka gånger per år att jag sover på dagtid. Då måste Herräng räknas bort för det är en tidsbubbla som bara gäller i Herräng, att dansa dygnet runt och sova lite små-lurar här och var runt dygnets 24 timmar.

Dans...vill inte tala om det...jag längtar och har abstinens nu efter ett längre dansuppehåll. Samtidigt är jag så himla lycklig för allt gott arbete som blev gjort innan den dumma förkylningen kom. Musiken har helt enkelt fått manövrera ut dansen ett tag. Det ska bara inte få hålla på så för länge. Och jag vet att det kommer mer dans runt hörnet, jag ska verkligen dansa denna sommar.

Nåväl, när jag är hemma och förkyld blir det mycket spännande gjort med dator och lurar med musik. Nu har jag plankat The Collier's Ree, trall på skotska med hejdlöst häftige trallaren Josie McDermott. Därefter gjort ett sångarrangemang till Irmelin, och påbörjat ett till. Jag har övat gitarr och uppdaterat konsertkalendern på min hemsida. Och nu, klapp på axeln, gjort ett rejält pass med bokningsarbetet. Faktiskt har det gett resultat, två nya konserter bokades idag! Fram med mörk choklad och ett glas vin!

Well done

Lång dags färd mot vila, jag ska strax stupa i säng. Men först klapp på axeln. Berömm till oss alla som gjorde denna hus-röjning/uppsnoffning inför fotografering. Björn klippte gräset, Anna-Lena lånade ut keramik, blommor, textilier och deltog med sin positiva anda och kunniga blick. Rickard har plockat undan och städat, och det har jag också gjort. Jag har målat balkongen. Jag är bra! Vi är bra! Anna-Lena hade med sig lunch och Rickard bakade äppelpaj. Jag dammsög och fejade. Alla leksaker på dotterns rum stuvades in i skåp och lådor. Så här blev det. Fast jag är inte någon hus-fotograf....snart finns annonsen färdig och då kan ni se den också.






Efter att fotografen gått hem fick jag en sån trötthetsattack att jag gick och la mig på sängen. Hur ofta händer det? En gång i kvartalet kanske. Jag borde bli bättre på sånt. Och idag har jag varit duktig på även det, att ta en paus, en tupplur.

Bra, för då orkade jag åka till kvällens balboa-kurs. Spänningshuvudvärken som krypit på mig försvann direkt. Balboa-dans kräver mycket avslappning, det perfekta pillret mot spänningshuvudvärk. Kul var det!

Foto-session Nordic Wedding Music

Nu kommer det nåt som ni inte har hört förut! Mikael Godée på sopransax och Mats Eriksson på gitarr, och jag på sång håller på att sjösätta en helt ny trio, Nordic Wedding Music. Mellan dröm och verklighet, fest, passion, färg. Gästartister kommer det att bli också om vi får som vi vill, från våra nordiska grannländer.

Kommer vi att lyckas få ihop 1800-talsbruden med nutiden? Nu har jag packat ner den hemmagjorda brudkronan med pappersblommor i en gammal projektorväska, tagit med fem klänningar, två par stövlar, tre par klackskor (röda italienska, svarta vintage 70-tals och Noa Noa-skor i guld)
Massor med krimskrams som pärlor och sidenblommor, och sist men inte minst, en sorts spetsmudd som ska sitta på överarmen. Tveksamt om den ska vara med i slutändan, men värt ett försök. Durspelet och den svarta melodi-cittran med rosorna på får följa med. De är de vackraste.
Vi fotar vid en strand vi Röda Sten när det blir kvällsljus. Vi har glädjen att ha Peter Lloyd som fotograf, det känns jättebra, och Gabriella Persson är stylist och idéspruta ihop med Peter. Det kan inte bli bättre. Idag ska vi göra historia och åstadkomma Nordic Wedding Musics första pressbilder!

Ny kamera och lite mac-filosofi

Jag är glad ägare till en ny kamera! En Panasonic med Leica-objektiv. Den är så fin, och nu ska det bli roligt att utveckla fotograferandet ytterligare.
När jag läste instruktionshäftet som medföljde upptäckte jag att programet som rekommenderas för bildbehandling i dator till denna Panasonic kamera endast gick att använda i PC. Nåväl, jag skrev till Panasonic support och frågade hur jag som mac-användare skulle göra. Hm, svaret jag fick var att det inte finns såna mac-anpassade program. Idag fick jag svar från min egen privata mac-support. iPhoto som är macs eget fotoprogramvara som är medföljande alla macar, kan hantera bilder från alla kameror, så jag skulle bara strunta i den dumma supporten på Panasonic. De är bara avundsjuka på att mac har så bra fotoprogram.

Så jag testade att helt enkelt koppla ihop min nya kamera och min mac, och si! Allt flöt på som om dessa två aldrig hade gjort annat än föra över bilder. det gick alldeles utmärkt. Resultatet syns här nedan. Två bilder från vår tur med Paddan i förra veckan. Leka turist i egen stad, något vi gör varje sommar.

Snart ska jag iväg och dansa balboa!
